Introducing Zero to Well-Read, a New Podcast from Book Riot
Part English class, part literary cocktail party
In the nearly 15 years that we’ve been talking about books on the internet together, we’ve heard from a lot of people who feel like they missed the window to read the so-called “important” books, or who just never wanted to slog through them alone. Lately, we’ve also been talking about the ways that reading and engaging deeply with what we read can be a form of resistance to algorithmic slop, dopamine addiction, and brain rot. It’s out of these conversations that our new podcast Zero to Well-Read was born.
From classics to contemporary hits and social media sensations, we’ll tell you why these books are great, what you should know about them, what makes them weird and fun and strange, and why they matter. It’s the literary cocktail you always wanted to go to…as long as no one would ask you what you thought of Ulysses. The first season kicks off today, with a new episode each Tuesday. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and anywhere you get your pods.
